The CAA Methods in use at the HFI

X. Li, N. Schönwald, C. Richter, L. Panek

The following document describes the principles behind the in-house developed CAA codes CAA25D and CAA3D used at the Hermann Föttinger Institute, and is intended for any reader interested in CAA-methods. These methods neglect friction effects and concentrate in most cases on the propagation and radiation of acoustic waves. The HFI has developed such codes addressed chiefly to the simulation of aero-engine components, however the applicability of these is wider.

A table of contents is shown below, allowing the material of interest to be viewed with minimal data transfer. Most of this is kept simple with explanatory pictures and flowcharts, however more detailed information can be obtained from the references. Some of the references to HFI publications not covered by any third party copyright have been made available for direct download, denoted by a [PDF]-link below the reference.
