Validation
To preclude the influence of discretization several computational meshes having up to 100 000 grid points were used. It is proved that both, steady flow solutions and eigensolutions are mesh independent.
The results of the stability analysis were compared with experiments for the flow around circular cylinder. Critical Reynolds number, Stouhal numbers, growth rates agree well with experimental measurements. The flow fields reconstructed with the eigenvector contain all elements of the vortex shedding.
