Two-dimensional modifications

Firstly suggestions are presented that can be applied to two-dimensional Gurney-flap configurations and will therefore be investigated by two-dimensional simulations. All developments are based on a Gurney-flap with $h/c=1\%$. An overview of the geometries is given in table [*].

Results of all configurations and their effect on the mean aerodynamic quantities are summarized in table [*]. The ratio $\frac{\Delta c_d}{\Delta c_{d,Gurney}}$ quantifies how much of the Gurney-flap induced drag can be compensated for by the introduction of each particular modification. Snapshots of the flow field are plotted in fig. [*].
