| Examples Part I |
To view the following animations a browser which supports JAVA applets is required, and the JAVA option has to be enabled. Some of the animations may require a lot of memory. This depends on the used browser and the system. A true-color graphic gives the best visual results, but requires more main memory. If one has a slow connection but a 4.x browser, the Examples Part II below may be a better starting point. There the FLI files are transferred in compressed form.
High speed train
320x240, 160 Kb, 103 frames, Povray animation
Monopole field
320x240, 470 Kb, 25 frames, example with physical background
Dipole field
320x240, 330 Kb, 25 frames, example with physical background
Pulse
320x240, 630 Kb, 76 frames, result of numerical simulation, propagation of a pressure pulse
(view with visible border of images used internally by fliplay)
Laval nozzle
400x200, 660 Kb, 51 frames, result of numerical simulation, startup process in a Laval nozzle
Vortex-airfoil interaction
320x240, 580 Kb, 67 frames, result of numerical simulation, vortex passing an airfoil
(same but 134 frames, 720 Kb, no reverse, runs smoother)
| Examples Part II |
In the following examples the FLI-files are transferred in compressed form. Because the unzip is done using a Java class, which is not included in Java 1.0, some older browsers may not work.
Numbers
640x480, 6.4 Kb (zipped), 6 frames, very simple example,
download
PPM2FLI text
640x480, 175 Kb (zipped), 100 frames, Povray animation,
download
High speed train
640x480, 150 Kb (zipped), 103 frames, Povray animation (same as in part I),
download
Vortex-airfoil interaction (midfield)
640x480, 220 Kb (zipped), 38 frames, result of numerical simulation,
download
Oscillating surface
640x480, 240 Kb (zipped), 26 frames, plays auto-reverse, harmonic oscillation of a round surface,
download
Mach reflection
360x280, 320 Kb (zipped), 40 frames, result of numerical simulation, flow about wedges at mach number 4.96,
download
Vortex convection through nozzle
720x360, 730 Kb (zipped), 40 frames, result of numerical simulation,
download
