Computational  Modelling  of  Unsteady  Airfoil  Flows

Numerical Method

- Finite-Volume approach with incompressible pressure-correction scheme with full collocated grid
- TVD-MUSCL convection scheme,
- two different kinds of mesh (Figure 1):
   a rotating one and one with rotating airfoil and static far-field boundary,
   each in fine and coarse versions: ( fine: 482x72 = 34704,  coarse: 400x60 = 24000 ),
   coarse mesh in high/low-Re version.

- second order time discretisation,
- first order space conservation law [2],
- deep stall cases are calculated with flexible time-stepping (Figure 2).
